Now that we have taken a look at WHEN we should use technology, let us ask the question "what is too much technology in the classroom?" This can be an extremely difficult question to answer and the answers will vary
. Many argue that too much technology makes children reliant on technology and they are unable to perform basic tasks without it? On the other hand, for students who struggle with technology can make learning easier and allow them to stay on course in terms of curriculum. The ASCD released an interesting article discussing both sides of this matter that you can read here. The article explains that Piaget's idea that children move from concrete thoughts, such as facts and procedures, to more abstract thinking that involves creativity and considerations of other perspectives. This article doesn't suggest outrageous means of technology in the classroom but simply an upgrade to a more modern, functional classroom.
