Self Regulation is like many other areas of child development in that is requires that the child regulate their thoughts and learning habits through the forming and completing goals and tasks in life.
So again our question stands, "How does technology fit into self regulation?" My first thought it that technology could be useful in setting goals, keeping track of progress, and assessing exisiting knowledge. However, some see technology as a hindrance to self regulation and motivation. SNOW is an organization aimed to providing resources for people to use technology to help with the development of a child's self regulation. SNOW even went as far to publish an article called "Self-Regulation and Technology-The Wave of The Future". They believe that technology is an excellent resource for children to use during their development of self regulation and even provide classroom models, diagrams, and lists of apps that focus on many different areas of self regulation. One diagram I found especially interesting is the one below that show how they believe technology should be used on many different areas yet all together as one.
